Luxspace is a real estate website that provides many tools and services to make it simple, quick, and inexpensive for you to find the ideal property. The website offers comprehensive information on the housing market, including price data, area details, and listings of homes for sale or rent. In addition, it provides resources and features like agent matching and customized search choices to help you find your ideal house. You can get the best homes and the best terms by negotiating exclusive deals with real estate agents with the help of Lux Space.

I worked on this project as a UX/UI designer, and I conducted all of the research, user research, competitive analysis, persona building, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, design documentation, and so on.

Prospective homeowners face a variety of challenges when searching for the ideal house, including:

  • Home seekers often discover that the properties shown by listing agents don’t match their descriptions, leading to disappointment and wasted time.

  • Listing agents sometimes quote higher rental prices than landlords intended, causing unexpected financial strain on renters.

  • There is additional pressure on home seekers to find acceptable housing fast, which delays the search process.

  • Sometimes, when a good home is located, it's in a remote or awkward area, which can be frustrating.

The goal is to:
Precise property confirmation: Establish a system to consistently check and update property information for accuracy.
Clear rental pricing: criteria should be established for agencies to avoid misunderstanding.
Effective property search tools: Provide easy-to-use search tools to help find properties more quickly.
Detailed location data: Provide neighborhood and accessibility information to help you make better selections.
Communication between tenants and landlords: Develop effective routes of communication between tenants and landlords.

Luxspace is made to meet the many demands of people looking for a place to live, regardless of their age or background. These people are eager to purchase, sell, or rent an apartment or house.

Qualitative research:
To better understand the challenges that students and homeowners face when searching for a new home or apartment, we conducted interviews with five students and two homeowners. The interviews were conducted over phone calls or Zoom and included sample questions such as:

Home seekers (rent and buy) research questions:

  • Are you trying to rent a house right now?

  • Could you explain the difficulties faced during the process?

  • How frequently do you utilize applications or websites that help you find apartments?

  • How simple was it for you to use the platform and focus your search within the limits of your budget and preferences?

  • What additional features do you think home location websites and applications should have?

Feedback from home seeker's research:

  • Users complain that it is quite exhausting to search for a place to live.

  • It is challenging to simplify their search results and quickly find a house that fits their preferences and budget in the lack of advanced filters.

  • Luxurious apartments that are occasionally misleading.

Research inquiries for landlords and homeowners:

  • How frequently do you find tenants or purchasers for your properties?

  • What difficulties do you have with the process?

  • Would you market your properties online to attract tenants or buyers?

  • Which features on this platform would you most want to see?

Research findings from homeowners and landlords:

  • Agents use agencies to find tenants and buyers.

  • Sometimes, landlords like to have direct communication with prospective tenants to screen potential tenants and ensure that they are reliable and responsible.

  • A navigable and user-friendly interface is what landlords desire.

User personas

I created these two unique user personas based on a survey and interviews. These individuals could help me in presenting my product's target market. I could better grasp my users' requirements, experiences, behaviors, and objectives with the help of these.

Usability Testing

After I had my mid-fidelity prototype ready for testing, I recruited 6 participants to test my app and get their feedback.

1. Clear Navigation:

Provide clear and intuitive navigation options that allow users to easily explore the website. This typically includes a menu or navigation bar with links to key sections such as property listings, search tools, services, and contact information.

2. Call to Action: On the home screen Include clear calls to action (CTAs) that prompt users to take the next steps, such as viewing more properties, contacting an agent, signing up for updates, or exploring additional services offered by the real estate company.

3. Search Filters: On the rent screen Include intuitive search filters that allow users to refine their rental property search based on criteria such as location, price range, number of bedrooms/bathrooms, property type (e.g., apartment, house), and amenities (e.g., parking, pet-friendly).

4. Interactive Map:

Optionally, include an interactive map on the contact screen that displays the location of the real estate company's offices or branches. This can help users locate the nearest office and provide additional context for contacting the company.

5. Featured Articles:

Highlight featured or popular blog articles on the blog screen to capture users' attention and encourage exploration. Use visually appealing images and headlines to temptation users to click and read more.

About.png

Designing a real estate app requires a holistic approach that balances aesthetics with functionality and usability. By prioritizing user needs, conducting thorough research, and iterating based on feedback, I can create a web design that not only meets but exceeds users' expectations, providing a seamless and satisfying experience for all stakeholders involved in the real estate journey.

I created a full set of design style guidelines including typography, colors, UI elements icons, and more.

Outcome, learning and next steps

Since the end of the challenge, I have revised my product solution to a Real estate website, as previously mentioned. From here, I would like to dive deeper into creating a seamless and easily understandable tracking process for users to follow their order.

What can be improved?
I only made use of Adobe XD for this project - for everything from my wireframes and prototypes to creating illustrations and icons. While I was able to complete my full design within XD, it is useful to have working knowledge of all of the standard tools in the industry. In the future, I would like to expand upon the programs that I use.

What’s next?
I spent a lot of time researching UX best practices toward the end of this project, and I also have a few features that are not yet available on the clickable prototype that I would like to add in the future.
